ABOUT NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS
Narcotics Anonymous was formed in 1953 as a fellowship of men and women who get together regularly to share their experience, strength and hope. It is a spiritual, not religious, program that comes from the 12 steps and 12 traditions of Narcotics Anonymous (adapted with permission from Alcoholics Anonymous).
Our third tradition states that the only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using.
Narcotics Anonymous is a program of recovery from the disease of addiction, the obsessive, compulsive behavior, not the disease of a specific drug.
We carry the message of recovery, that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live.
That never again an addict need die of active addiction.

NA IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Narcotics Anonymous fellowship in New Hampshire has been in existence since the early 1980’s and is continuously growing. New Hampshire has two primary NA Areas – the Granite State Area and the Seacoast Area. In both areas there are over 60 NA meetings a week, with additional meetings being added all the time. Some meetings along our state borders are not included in this number, as other areas, such as the Green Mountain Area of Vermont, publish those meetings on their meeting lists.
The Granite State and Seacoast Areas are both members of the Northern New England Region of NA.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The Granite State Area Outreach Subcommittee is a group of NA members that help overcome the isolation which hinders the growth, survival, and unity of our local groups and individual NA members.
PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE
The Granite State Area Public Information (PI) Committee is available to carry the NA message of recovery to the still-suffering addict and to the community in general.
The PI committee offers:
– Meeting lists printing and distribution
– Presentations to faculty, students, rehabilitation centers, and other institutions.
– Various recovery literature samples
– Professional and fellowship learning days

HOSPITALS & INSTITUTIONS COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Hospitals & Institutions (H&I) Committee is to carry the NA message of recovery to addicts who do not have full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings. H&I meetings and presentations (except for those in longer-term facilities) are intended to simply introduce attendees to the NA Program.
The Granite State Area H&I Committee currently has a number of ongoing commitments within New Hampshire.
Hospitals and Institutions interested in having members of Narcotics Anonymous come for a presentation or regularly scheduled meeting should contact H&I Chairperson by using this online form.
